Professor Noah Sachs is an Associate Professor of Law and Director, Robert R. Merhige, Jr. Center for Environmental Studies at the University of Richmond School of Law.
Professor Sachs is a nationally known expert in environmental law, and in 2009, was named the University of Richmond’s "Rising Star Professor," reflecting his growing prominence as a scholar and a teacher in the field. Professor Sachs's research focuses on regulation of toxics and hazardous waste, climate change, and transboundary pollution. He is co-author of the leading casebook on toxic substances regulation, he has published in top-tier law reviews, and he presented his scholarship at the prestigious Yale-Stanford Junior Faculty Forum.
In 2007, Professor Sachs won a European Union Fellowship to study with EU environmental leaders in Brussels, Belgium. He has also traveled extensively to environmental hot-spots around the globe, including tropical rain forests, Himalayan biodiversity parks, the Three Gorges Dam in China, and the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
