Executive Director

Jennifer Marshall, J.D., supervises CPR's staff, coordinates scholars' projects, and manages the organization's internal and external objectives. Ms. Marshall's experience prior to joining CPR includes work as an attorney with the United States Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division, a clerkship with the Seventh Judicial Circuit for the State of Maryland, and a nearly nine-year career in government and political administration.

 

Policy Analysts
Margaret Clune Giblin, J.D., M.C.P., works with CPR's "Achieving the New Progressive Agenda" and "Government Accountability" issue groups. She is also an adjunct lecturer in the Environmental Science and Policy Program at the University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP). Giblin has previously worked as: the Director of the College Park Scholars – Environmental Studies program at UMCP; an associate attorney in the Baltimore office of Piper Rudnick, LLP; and a rural area planner in the Baltimore County, Maryland Office of Planning.
 

James Goodwin, J.D., M.P.P. works with CPR's "Clean Science" and "Government Accountability" issue groups. Prior to joining CPR, Mr. Goodwin worked as a legal intern for the Environmental Law Institute and the EcoLogix Group, Inc.

 

Shana Jones, J.D., works with CPR's "Achieving the New Progressive Agenda" and "Government Accountability" issue groups. Prior to joining CPR, Ms. Jones worked as an associate attorney in the Norfolk office of McGuire Woods, LLP, previously clerking for the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Virginia and the Maryland Court of Appeals. Ms. Jones also has experience as a telecommunications consultant and in nonprofit administration.

 

Matt Shudtz, J.D., works with CPR's "Clean Science" and "Corporate Accountability" issue groups. Prior to joining CPR, Mr. Shudtz worked as a legal intern for the Natural Resources Defense Council and as a legal/legislative intern for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.

 
Special Projects Administrator
Catherine Jones assists CPR with general administration, project production, and conference planning. Prior to joining CPR, Ms. Jones worked as a Property Manager in the retail property and commercial office field for over 15 years, developing extensive expertise in the financial, human resource, and logistical aspects of management.

Media Consultant

Matthew Freeman coordinates CPR's public relations efforts and manages its website. His media relations experience in Washington spans 20 years, and his client list includes a range of organizations active on the environment, education, civil rights and liberties, health care, progressive organizing in the faith community, and more.

General Consultant
Paul Lang, J.D., MBA, provides CPR assistance in seeking financial support, in developing projects, and in external and internal communications. Prior to working with CPR, Mr. Lang served in the U.S. Coast Guard until honorably discharged due to medical disability and was a candidate for the Pennsylvania State Senate in November 2006.
